Louis Vuitton had the most magical set for SS2012. Marc Jacobs really went all out this time, perhaps because it might be his last show for the label. It is strongly rumored that he is to be the new Creative Director for Christian Dior, after John Galliano's unfortunate departure.Nothing for sure yet, but the magnificent set really re-fueled those rumors. Kate Moss come back for a second round to walk the catwalk for the label ( usually supermodel royalties like her just sit in the front row), and added that extra oomph to the show.
The clothes were sweet, innocent and very very wearable. Pastel shades and white ruled the catwalk, with over sized eyelets on dresses, shirtcollars and coats. The collection comprised of mostly day wear pieces, that were painstakingly intricate and displayed a dominant sense of soft- fifties influenced femininity.
So Beautiful
The great thing about Louis Vuitton fashion shows are that they don't leave out their accessories line- which is their biggest seller. I absolutely love, LOVE the shoes with the metallic point. I've always loved pointy shoes, and its seems they are making it a big return at LV. Also I'm over the moon that I already have something similar to the metallic pointy front. The bags were interesting too, and they have new shapes which are really really fun. The exotic leather collection is gorgeous, but I'm sure that the price tag on those bags will be just as gorgeous.
I just don't get what the big deal is with Kate, except that she is a real life princess. Okay, I take that back. I get what the big deal is surrounding Kate Middleton. She is the princess after all, and people apparently die to watch the royal wedding. Great. Her wedding dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Okay great- I guess that's quite an honor although I do feel the label is way too cool for her, too avant-garde, too fun. The label deserves better.Like maybe designing Kate Moss's wedding dress. Anyway, so yeah Kate is decent. She is definitely cute, looks a bit old for her age, has lost tons and tons of weight so is now pretty much a stick figure with really, no hips. That's fine. Oh and I also understand that she probably didn't want all this attention and doesn't think much of herself anyway. That's totally believable. Its the media and the people, who have made her into this fashion icon who annoy me.How???
She is attractive, tall, thin, tan (i.e-hot) , but come on she's an average dresser.Like yeah, she wears decent stuff and doesn't look like a clown - but that does not a Fashion Icon make. Really. It makes an average person. And maybe in her case an average rich person. Her style is basic, and if I may say so-boring at times. But I get that she cant be too risque and have too much fun with the clothes cos she has to maintain public decorum and I dunno be all stiff and monarchical. You know? family values/ in-laws issues whatever.
Its like just cos she wore Sarah Burton she immediately became a style goddess, and hasn't had to work up to that name ever since. Its not like she's wearing what nobody could've ever thought of wearing. She keeps it simple and classic- and yes, that's a virtue on its own-but come on, you can't keep playing her up like this.
As a sign of goodwill, I'm putting up pictures where she really is looking great.
Then there's her sister Pippa. Like man, whats the big deal. She's not even the princess but still she's made out to be a fashion icon for her plain jane style. Does she have an ass that just won't quit? Yes. Does she have a beautiful tan? Yes. Does that make her the next Kate Moss? Hell no. Not in a million years.
I love Leo (DiCaprio) okay. And no, not since Titanic. Much later. Maybe after The Departed. Actually no, I always had pleasant feelings towards him,and reallllly fell in to the pool with The Departed. And then there was Revolutionary Road, then Shutter Island, then Inception. And now, I really feel for him.You know, like Don D. Except maybe not so obsessive.Like I love him, but don't want to necessarily be with him.
So it realllllllllly irks me that he is with Blake Lively. WTH. Why? I mean she's so young, so like not even in the waiting line of his league. I find her to be such a randomer, and its not just her but all these young starlets, they're great and all, and so hot, but they don't have that 'thing' that people like Leo have. And no...they cant over reach and get away with it.
Disgustiiinnng
When Leo was with Gisele. I thought-what an amazing couple. They emanated chemistry from the entire pacific and a continent away. You know what I'm talking about? the kind of chemistry you dream about. Chalo, they broke up. Koi naye, doesn't matter. Breakups happen, such is life.
Gorge
Then came Bar Rafaeli. Not as breathtaking, but still rings up the hot meter. Good chemistry, low profile relationship-together for like half a decade with what is most essential to all great/hard to get over/ always keep you wondering relationships; lots of breakups.Met the parents in Israel even. Break up.
Leo-single for a while. Then totters in Serena ( I don't watch gossip girl btw) with her designer swag, and tousled hair and Louboutin-named-a-pair-of-shoes-after-me attitude and she's in! Cruising and vacationing with Leo in Italy and Monte Carlo.
What kind of a world are we living in? How is this fair?
Leo needs to be with Kate Winslet. When Kate got divorced a year or so back, I was like finallllly now she'll be with Leo, cos I feel there is a lot of love between the two of them. Not because of Titanic, but cos of a speech Kate gave at some point-she said something very nice to Leo-very affectionate type. Platonic affectionate, but affectionate still- in any case platonic is only till you get your groove on.
But nooo...Leo is out cycling with Serena Van de Over Reacher.
Yuck.
Anyway, Leo's new movie J.Edgar is out in November. Its a biographic drama directed by Clint Eastwood, based on the first director of the FBI ( Leo). I think it'll be awesome.
